K-8 Special Education Paraprofessional -- apply online --
Richard McKenna Charter School, located in Mountain Home, Idaho, is seeking an individual who is highly motivated and interested in working in a highly positive environment to provide Special Education services to students in a Montessori and Project-based learning environment.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Special Education Classroom Teacher in general daily classroom activities and student supervision inside and outside of the classroom. Provides individual, one-on-one educational instruction and assistance to various students with special needs in order to support the supervising teacher and other team members in providing a quality educational benefit and consistent special education services.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to parents, students, and other employees of the District. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work in a friendly manner and to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements, Board of Education policies, and applicable State and Federal laws.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
30 credit hours of college course work or High School Diploma
Previous experience in similar position helpful but not necessary.
STARTING WAGE:
$15.00 per hour.
